Thank you for this. I am about to click buy on this rather than an 86 incher. It's $1,999 now. I hope you enjoy yours.
That's great, brother. I hope you enjoy it. I'm coming up on one year with this one and can't imagine upgrading to anything else. At 2k, an absolute steal.
how is the upscaling? i have youtube tv and not every channel is 1080p so upscaling 720 or 480 is a major factor for me. also hows the streaming service upscaling on other apps like netflix or amazon prime on non native 4k content?
Update?
Really enjoyed the video. How are you getting on with the tv, how’s the movie experience.
I see you're in north alabama from other videos, i'm having an impossible time finding one of these to see in person. Would you be willing to let a complete stranger come see your tv? 😂😂😂😂
Well, I've done stupider things and still here. Sure dude, send me your email or how to get in touch
@@3JABO thanks!!! UA-cam keeps deleting my response, I guess because I put my Gmail in it. Is there a way to send a direct message?
Is the remote back lit?
No unfortunately
Its 2k now! I just purchased today will come on Saturday. We appreciate you making this video
How do you like it? Any regrets?
@monkeyattack44 lol....yes, I regret it bestbuy literally will be coming to pick it back up today.
@@micdoses1 Oh yikes.....why? Not worth the $2K?
@monkeyattack44 definitely worth $2k. I just didn't like the picture quality and colors could've been better oh and I had some vertical banding as well
@@micdoses1 did you do a review on it? Did you even adjust the setting?
$1999.99 on sale now!
I came here to comment that lol
Yea I had to go back and get price match got 505 back it’s a steal 1900
Can you make more videos for this set?
Does this have gamebar 2.0?
Good video. Im thinking of getting this set.
Any updated thoughts on this TV after a few months?
Still the best bang for the buck, especially with today's $1999 price. No complaints, would buy another if I had room for it
getting mine today 2400 I'm upgrading from vizo 70 inch 10 years old i cant wait
Just picked up one from best buy last night got $2k usd
@@BahnYukisame. Just got mine today!
@@apmendoza15is it worth it
The picture looks like shit on video, but I realize it looks a lot different in person.
How is this tv with normal channels? Cnn and the like? is it sharp or blurry? How is upscaling and motion?
It' sharp by all accounts for sdr/hd viewing(720p and up).
Can you connect wisa wireless speakers to it?
I have had mine for a few weeks now. I ended up getting it for around $2375.00 with no taxes. I use it only for watching streaming Netflix, Apple TV, Max, and UA-cam. The other TV I have is a 77 Sony OLED A80J that I have had for a couple years. It took quite a bit of tweaking of the TCL to get the picture quality to what I consider an acceptable level. Keep in mind I am very picky about the video quality and will spend hours researching and tweaking the picture. Sadly there are no real professional reviews on this TV yet as of 11/22/23 so all tweaking was done by myself by just making one change then looking at the picture then rinse and repeat. Overall I am very happy with it. The blacks are fairly deep and I see minimal blooming. I do see some some dirty screen effect however it is mostly around the edges and I see it only when I run a DSE test. It is not noticeable when I am watching movies and is really not that bad. I have seen DSE on nearly every TV I have owned to varying degrees and it is not very bad on this one in comparison. The only real issue I have had with the TV is the audio pass through via the digital optical out. I have a Apple TV 4k plugged into the eARC HDMI port and an older Sony Dream 5.1 Surround System plugged into the Optical Digital Optical Out and to get it to work I have to manually select it in the TV interface. I did not have to do this on my Sony A80J. I will say the built in sound on the TV is very good however. There was also a recent firmware update that occurred that added a lot of new features and corrected a lot of the initial issues I had with the TV. I may place my 77 inch Sony A80J right next to it and upload a comparison video of them if no reviews come out soon. Keep in mind I am not a professional reviewer but it might help someone. Overall I would say that if you can get this TV for less than $2500 and are looking for a massive TV with a decent picture that is 90% of OLED and don't mind spending a couple hours tweaking the picture to your liking then I say go for it. Right now it is on sale for $2499 for Black Friday.
Going to place my order today for it upgrading from an Lg 86inch not oled but would be interested in a video from you of your picture settings
Hello Im getting mine today would love to see your settings save me time thanks
@@pmoneyz2391 I ended up returning it due to the issue I had with Apple TV so cannot look up my settings for you. I see now that it is on sale for $1,999.00 so it dropped even further. If you paid more than that you should see if they will refund you the difference. I know Best Buy will do that.
the games looks good, what game is that?

Hi JABO, thanks for the video. I am a new subscriber from Mexico. could you please tell me how many nits this TV has and if you think the brightness is enough for a terrace with indirect sunlight?
Thanks for sharing how far you sit from TV
Dude, you are welcome.
13' to 15' distance is right. An 84" the correct is 11'
What Playnite theme you are using in your video Playnite with Xbox Series X Launcher / Theme for PC?
Hey sorry that was an older video and I haven't used playnite in a while
HELP!!! My HDR on this tv is so DARK & super dimmed!!! I think it only does that on HDR10+ movies on Prime Video. Everywhere else is great bright nice TV for the price!!! I tried everything from calling TCl resetting tv and troubleshoot and still didn’t fix it. My other tv Samsung and LG no problem but the 98” TCL sucks in hdr10+… only happens on the hdr10+ so dark!!! I bought The Flash , Grand tourismo movie and can’t even watch it
I'm on the fence about picking one of these up. The only other review that I've seen has raved about the black levels despite not having local dimming. Have you tried running the eARC HDMI back into your AVR and running your computer directly into the 144Hz input? I have an older Denon AVR that only supports up to 4K 60Hz but I'm planning on running my Xbox Series X and gaming PC into the two HDMI 2.1 ports and running the audio into my AVR via the eARC port.
I have had this TV for a few days now and it is definitely an upgrade in every way over my 13 year old 1080p Sharp 70 incher. $3000 is definitely worth it. Anyway, unless you are happy with limiting yourself to stereo sound, you will likely need a sound extractor to separate the audio directly to your avr, or run the signal through the avr first if it supports it. I spent a very long frustrating several hours trying to get 5.1 working with the setup you describe. It turns out that nvidia cards (I am running a 3070) refuse to send the correct (edid?) settings to the tv (or most tvs refuse to accept nvidia's settings) for anything beyond stereo. What's worse, when actually testing the channels, it seems that we only get monaural sound out of each channel. I don't know if this extends to intel or amd cards. I have an sound extractor on the way now and will come back here to let people know how things work. Unfortunately it does not seem like there are any 144hz extractors available. The one I ordered is limited to 120hz. It accepts up to 2 HDMI inputs and then sends the audio over optical to my sound bar. This was a bit of a ramble, but it seems that (e)arc suffers from the same issues today (at least with PCs) as it was a decade ago.
The difference between 120 and 144 is very minimal and should not factor in whether you buy the tv or not.
For this big of a screen Local dimming probably would hurt it..
Can you do a video on movies please? Both full screen aspect and 2:39 aspect with the black bars on top and bottom. This will tell if there is any significant blooming. Looking forward to a movie upload!!
How is it for movies ? Any blooming? Im thinking of getting this for my movie room .
I actually had a 98r754 about to be shipped to me that I paid $3999 for. That's the previous year's model that is QLED and has local dimming zones. Yesterday, even though it is probably a better TV, I promptly canceled the order and ordered a 98s550g when I discovered it was being sold for $2999! Without the local dimming zones, I'll apparently lose some depth in my blacks and will have a lesser color gamut, but I get to keep a thousand bucks! It is to be delivered on four and I'll tell you it can't come fast enough, this should be a considerable upgrade over my 12 year old 70" ...
Keep us posted how you like it. Have 98r754 on order for $3500
Can be a real toss up over whether FALD is worth $1000 or not. For me, I would say no. But others will have you head for even implying you would purchase a TV that isn't OLED or FALD. That's a bit silly in my opinion.
@@3JABO (looks up FALD) ... Yeah it was a bit of a decision, but that thousand bucks sure sounded nice! There is still a little anxiety because I am giving up QLED and FALD for this one. And yeah, there many that will settle for nothing but the best (or most expensive, with brand meaning everything) and are willing to go into debt to get it so they can brag to their friends ...
@@JS-cb7rxOh dang! Splitting the difference! For that price I probably would have kept the 98r754. It was available everywhere for $3999 one evening and then it wasn't available anywhere I could find except one ebay seller the next morning. I jumped on it figuring it was being taken off of the market.
@@JS-cb7rx So far I like it, it is definitely an upgrade over my 12 year old sharp 70 inch anyway.
How is it for movies??? Im planning to replace my projector with this TV
Incredible vs what I have seen from higher end projectors. Despite the price and improvements they've made over the years, I don't feel that any projector can truly give you the same brightness, color and feel of a backlit standard television. I'll do another video later this week with a movie demo.
Ordered mine last Saturday for $3999 got online today and it’s listed for 2999 I was refunded $1000 hopefully I like it but for the price I’m sure I will!
Nice! I think it's a good value at even 3999, compared to pricing a year ago. But 2999 is a steal. Hope you enjoy
Where for 2999???

I have this issue on my XFX 5700 XT Raw II at around 2500 RPM. Was there any trick to the loose screw issue? Just basically tightened everything you could find?
Hey Dan, so that fixed it for about a week, the problem came back and I ended up having to do an RMA. The replacement has been great so far.
@@3JABO Thanks for the info. I found my noise was from a loose fit from the fan portion of the shroud to the backplate. It's certainly not going to be a permanent fix, but I used taut duct tape to basically pull the shroud against the backplate of the card, and it no longer vibrates so no more bad sounds. I have a feeling this is what your screw-tightening also accomplished. But, I'd expect an RMA to be in order sometime soon, as my solution seems even less long-term than yours.
@@emptybookdan awesome. Sounds like we got the same batch of cards. Mine was also around the 2500rpm mark. For what it's worth, the RMA process was super easy, they never even asked for a receipt or anything.
@@3JABO Whelp, I doubt you've been losing sleep about my card for the last 2 months, but I can say for sure that the duct tape trick isn't cutting it long-term, and I opened a ticket to begin the RMA process today. (just posting in case other people have this issue, too.)
@@emptybookdan lol no, no sleep lost but it has crossed my mind since. That new card they sent me has been great, I noticed the part number was slightly off from my card. Either way, that bad boys going on r/hardwareswap when I can get my hands on a 3080.
